From Sharm El Sheikh: Mount Sinai & St Catherine Excursion One Day Trip.

Excursion Overview:

• Mount Sinai Tour from Sharm El Sheikh-Departure from Sharm El Sheikh at 20.00 every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday .
• Two and a half hours drive to mount Moses and you make the ascent. An experienced guide will help you reach the top of Mount Sinai at an altitude of 2285 m.
• Mount Sinai from Sharm El Sheikh-The top of mount Moses and the view from it are attractions in themselves.
• The view is beautiful, but climbing the trail requires endurance: the length of the entire route is about 7 km. the Ascent to the top will take no more than 3 hours.
• Numerous groups of pilgrims climb mount Moses to meet the dawn here.
• 1st way: gentle serpentine, then you will need to climb 750 steps. Finally, after a three-hour journey, you will be able to sit on the top, concentrate on your thoughts, say a prayer or just enjoy the dawn.
• Just imagine-you are in the place where God gave the commandments to the children of Israel (10 Commandments).
• Egypt Customs Tours-Tradition says that those who made the hard way to Mount Sinai and met the dawn on its top will receive absolution.

Excursion itinerary:

Pick up:

• From your hotel (around around 23:00 pm depends on the Hotel location in Sharm) to drive two and a half hours to get to Moses Mountain.

Climbing the Mountain: 

• Sharm El Sheikh Moses Mountain-The biggest mountain in relation to others surrounding it, now you will climb the mountain along with your Bedouin guide and the rest of the group.
• You are expected to get to the peak of the mountain at , 2:30 am then wait there till the sunrise, it’s a lot of fun having other guests to accompany you.

St. Catherine:

• In the morning, the group we will have a short visit to the monastery, your English speaking guide will take good care of you and will explain everything there is to know as well as covering the highlights
• He will also give you a free time where you can take some pictures, there will be also a short visit to the burning bush, the church of transfiguration, Moses well and the museum.

Breakfast:

• Now breakfast comes right on time after lots of climbing and walking, also the guide will be with you all the way in case you need something, breakfast are served in one of the hotels near the monastery.

Lunch & free time in Dahab City: 

• Then we will drive to the wonderful city of Dahab to have lunch and enjoy almost an hour of free time in the city .

Drive back to Sharm El Sheikh:

•  By the end of the day, you’ll be escorted back to Sharm El-Sheikh enjoying the nature of the Sinai desert all the way down to your hotel.

Take it with you:

• Passport.
• Dry rations (you need to order at the reception at the hotel, the day of departure and take it with you, it’s free).
• Drinking water.
• Sunglasses.
• Clothing: in summer — jacket or jacket, in winter NECESSARILY !!! Warm clothes !!!
• When visiting sacred places (St. CATHERINE’s MONASTERY), please dress accordingly (shoulders and knees should be closed). Women are allowed to Visit temples in trousers. Women are required to wear a headdress or headscarf.
• Comfortable shoes.
• Photo and video equipment.
• Money for: buying drinks, buying Souvenirs and personal expenses.
